NEIL'S A FRESH PRINCE

How did i not know about this?! Neil Young on Jimmy Fallon last week?! I must have been living under a rock. Well i missed an awesome performance but thank goodness they have it online to watch. Anyways, legendary Neil Young made a guest appearance on Jimmy Fallon last week and you'll never guess what he song he performed. Nahhh, you guessed wrong. Here is the answer: He performed the theme song to "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" and it was ggrrrrreat! He was able to "neil-ify" it. I know that isn't a real word, but it is to me! Good job Neil....good job.

FLY, FLY, FIREFLY!

Chris Garneau has released a very very cool video for "Fireflies" which sort of gives me a reminiscence of "Pan's Labyrinth", or maybe its just me. Anyways, "Fireflies" is a hit off his album, El Radio, released via Absolutely Kosher in which Garneau has been signed too since January 2006. Furthermore, "Fireflies" tells a small story and the video is awesome. Watch it!

CHEYENNE MIZE & BONNIE "PRINCE" BILLY.

Listen up people! There is some awesome music being created, covered and being innovative out there and it has yet to be discovered. A perfect example of this, is the brilliant collaboration between Cheyenne Mize and Bonnie "Prince" Billy's EP, Among the Gold (Karate Body Records). This laid back collaboration brings forth a small collection of songs written back in 1873 to 1915. Unfortunately since its a very small project, it has missed recognition, except for the original fans of Mize and Billy. In this record, they cover songs such as my favorite so far, "Silver Threads Among the Gold", a country song originally written by Foster & Allen and the sweet Sinatra song,"Kiss Me Again". Others include "Beautiful Dreamer" and "Only A Dream." The best thing about this EP is it's simplicity and tender sound. You won't regret giving five minutes of your time to take a listen. I guarantee it.

Please ignore the edited in roses and cemetary scenes. I don't know why they added that.

YOUNG LOVE DOESN'T SEEM TO LAST.

    I'LL SLEEP WHEN I'M DEAD.

I think it's pretty cool yet somewhat scary of how they used to photograph the deceased.

    HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

"Those early Pilgrims were thankful for what had happened to them, and we should be thankful, too. We should just be thankful for being together. I think that's what they mean by 'Thanksgiving'. . ." - A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving

    STAY WHERE YOU ARE.

When i was in 7th grade there was a band that always made me happy whenever I heard their music. Though they were a bit of "mainstream" indie rock, it seemed as if no one knew who they were. Well almost 6 years later, i find myself smiling whenever i hear them. I'm talking about Ambulance Ltd, also name as plain Ambulance. Here I give you two very good songs, "Stay Where You Are" and "Primitive". Quick Fact: Did you know that the drummer is "Meatloaf's" son? You didn't?! Well good, cause he's not, he just looks like him.

    CUPCAKE, MY DEAR?

Lately, I've been craving a cupcake. At the sight of one, I just have a need to have it. It's just so pretty with its pastel colors-it makes it look so girly, pretty, and oh so delicate. I want a cupcake, from anywhere, as long as has a base and pretty icing-I'll take it! I'll probably be dreaming of one tonight.

    ELEPHANT.

A film about  school violence starts off with everyday aspects of teens' high school experience. From the jock dating the popular cheerleader, to everyday rumors, gossiping, loneliness, and socializing. This film takes a toll when violence unfolds and affects the students. The film may be a bit "too slow" for some, but if you focus and stick through it, you'll realize why it is such a favorite Gus van Sant film.

    COCO-NUT ANYONE?

"Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only.
Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas,
the way we live, what is happening"   -Coco Chanel

    GALAXY.

I'd like to to go somewhere
    completely unknown.
    to be a stranger,
    a loner,
a wandering body without a home.

    To meet new faces
and travel somewhere distant and far.
    Maybe I'll visit
the planets and far away stars.

So I'll make my destination the galaxy:
    calm, silence ,and pleasant peace,
    without expectations.
to be able to just be myself.

    But i am here.
    Miserable, and unloved.
Slowly transforming into a person I'm not.
    But I'll keep wishing.
And someday I’ll visit the galaxy.
    Maybe in a thousand years.
but maybe it'll be too late.
Cause I'll be everything but me.

    SALUTE YOUR SHORTS!

    This show was..BOMB!

"We run. We jump. We swim and play. We row and go on trips
But the things that last forever... are our dear friendships
Camp Anawanna, we hold you in our hearts.
And when we think about you (it makes me wanna fart!)
It's 'I hope we never part'. Now get it right or pay the price.
Now we will share a lifetime of the fondest memories.
By the lakes of Anawanna.. Sat in the old pine trees.
Camp Anawanna we hold you in our hearts.
And when we think about you-. (this thing came apart)
    Think Anawanna-wanna, speak Anawanna-wanna..
    Live Anawanna-wanna! Ugh!

    YOU'RE A STONE FOX.

The Virgin Suicides is a film that i could always watch and never get sick of. I usually like to watch it when I'm home alone and laying on my bed with the curtains opened. I think it kinda embodies the mind of all teenage girls. From little girl crushes to dealing with the authority of parents and dealing with stuff that boys wouldn't imagine. And the film's soundtrack and colors are just lovely. "She was the still point of the turning world", probably my favorite quote from the movie.
